Champagne
Delamotte Brut Non-Vintage $330 per bottle

WS 90… "A bubbly with breadth and richness to its grapefruit, apple and honey aromas and flavours. Smooth and balanced, with a lively feel on the finish."

Delamotte Rose Non-Vintage $550 per bottle

WS 92…"Very fragrant, boasting rose, violet, red berry and peach aromas and flavours. Opulent, even creamy, with underlying acidity that freshens the finish and a subtle aftertaste of fruit and spice."

Delamotte Blanc de Blancs 2002
$590 per bottle

WS 92… "Tightly knit, with racy acidity enlivening rich base notes of creamy brioche and hazelnut, while flavours of glazed apple, lemon meringue, apricot jam and ground ginger play on the lightly grained texture, with a dry, spicy finish."

Salon 1999 $2,590 per bottle

WS 94… "There's a streak of minerality and a lacy texture to this floral Champagne, with finely tuned acidity to focus the candied lemon zest, poached pear, nutmeg and ginger hints. A more delicate style, but seamless in its balance and finesse, with a subtle finish."

White

Triennes Les Aureliens Blanc 2011 $114 per bottle

AWL 88…"Aromas of hazelnuts, exotic fruits and citrus. Round and ample texture balanced by bright, crisp acidity."

Bouscasse Blanc Pacherenc du Vic Bilh Sec 2007 $130 per bottle

JR 18+…"Opulent creamy oak that barges out of the glass, followed by floral characters and a subtle tropical fruit; pineapple slices, melon and a drizzling of honey. Soft and potent on the palate, rich in flavour and kept honest by a zip-tooth acidity. The oak demands attention, yet allows an ethereal minerality to whistle at the finish: this is a grand cru equivalent."

Domaine de la Mordoree Lirac Blanc Cuvee Reine des Bois 2008 $190 per bottle

WA 91… "Exhibits beautiful sweet peach marmalade, honeysuckle, and white currant notes presented in an elegant, crisp, medium to full-bodied style with lots of zest and vibrancy."

Schlumberger Gewurztraminer Les Princes Abbes 2010 $198 per bottle

WS 90…"Fresh and juicy, with a lovely creaminess to flavours of candied orange peel, star fruit, peach and lychee. Well-balanced, with a lingering, smoke-tinged finish."

Schlumberger Pinot Gris Grand Cru Spiegel 2007 $198 per bottle

WS 91… "An elegant wine with much to offer, from the pretty floral nose to the well-meshed acidity to the flavours of pear sorbet, ripe apricot and clementine. An undercurrent of spice lingers on the long finish."

Domaine Roches Neuves Saumur Blanc L'Insolite 2011 $238 per bottle

WS 87… "The white peach, pear skin and green almond flavours mingle in this white, with a floral note etching the finish. Not dense, but shows good zip and clarity, revealing hints of lanolin along the edges."

Alphonse Mellot Sancerre La Moussiere Blanc 2010 $240 per bottle

WA 88…"Delightfully and stimulatingly minty in aromatics as well as in accenting its juicy lime and grapefruit, this is unusually polished and pure – in fact, subtly creamy – for a Sancerre of its vintage, yet also vivacious; and if not enormously complex, it gains further invigoration thanks to a streak of chalk and to piquancy of citrus zest in its sustained finish."

Mas de Daumas Gassac Blanc 2011
$361 per bottle

AWL 89… "A full basket of white and yellow fruits enhanced by subtle spices (saffron, cardamom...) on a bed of sage and a sprig of angelica : it is a wonder. To fully enjoy this delicious stage, drink it within 2 years or wait 10 to 20 years. An Impressive masterpiece of vinification and blending."

Alphonse Mellot Sancerre Generation XIX Blanc 2010
$398 per bottle

WA 92… "Scented with fennel and mint, as well as intimating the savoury, shrimp shell reduction-like salinity and hints of iodine that then inflect luscious grapefruit, lime, and melons on a lush palate. The hallmark textural refinement of Mellot whites is present in spades, yet accompanied by primary juiciness such as not all of them retain; and the combined herbal and mineral aspects serve for a rich broth-like sense of savoury depth. Bitter-sweet and saliva-inducing, the finish here is vibrantly and memorably persistent."

Alphonse Mellot Cuvee Edmond Sancerre Blanc 2010 $480 per bottle

WA 91… "dominated by an expression of Persian melon, white peach and quince so ripe – and by a texture so creamy (surprisingly for its vintage) – that it is accepting (and so am I ;-) of the vanilla, lanolin, and caramel elements that it has picked up from oak. Raw almond and wafting, sweet perfume of honeysuckle and heliotrope add to the extravagant appeal of a wine I would by no means have recognized as Sancerre much less one from 2010. Lingering with caressing gentleness and generosity, this will be hard to resist in the near term, and why resist?"

Beaucastel Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc 2008 $660 per bottle

WA 92…"This beauty may be the finest dry white of the vintage. Aromas of nectarines, orange marmalade, rose petals, quince and buttered tropical fruits are offered in a medium to full-bodied format with lots of freshness and acidity."

Beaucastel Roussanne Vieilles Vignes 2008 $990 per bottle

WA 95…"Superb notes of orange marmalade, candle wax, rosewater, tropical fruit, spice and peachy/apricot jam emerge from this stunning white wine."

Red
Domaine de la Mordoree Cotes du Rhone La Dame Rousse 2011 $110 per bottle

WA 87…"Earthy, with notes of garrigue, spring flowers, black cherries and black currants. "

Triennes Les Aureliens Rouge 2010 $114 per bottle

AWL 89…"Aromas of plum and black cherries, on the palate shows flavours of ripe plum, it is juicy with bright acidity and fine tannins."

Domaine Roches Neuves Saumur Champigny 2010 $140 per bottle

WS 91…"This has nice concentration, but stays racy, with good definition to the range of cassis, bramble, sweet tapenade and toasty spice notes. The long finish is very fresh."

Michel Ogier VDP Syrah La Rosine 2009 $198 per bottle

WA 90…"The most serious wine Ogier has yet produced from this site. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by abundant aromas of charcoal, licorice, black truffles, black currants and sweet cherries. Deep, fleshy, velvety textured, opulent and complex, it can be enjoyed over the next 7-8 years. "

Montus 2007 $252 per bottle

WS 92…"This powerful red from southwest France features concentrated dark plum, raspberry and mineral flavours, accented by savoury herbal notes. The crisp, intense finish is balanced and enveloping, with a hint of beef. Needs plenty of air to open up. Drink now through 2020."

Mas de Daumas Gassac Rouge 2007 $350 per bottle

WA 86-87+…"A rather reductive overlay to a nose initially dominated by pungent herbs and smoked meats blows off to reveal mulberry, huckleberry, cedar, iodine, and white pepper. In the mouth, this is firmly textured, juicy, bright, and somewhat youthfully tart and angular. Wet stone undertones add to a sense of austerity, but the wine's energetic brightness and focused black fruits gain the upper hand in a surprisingly refreshing finish. I don't perceive this as achieving much richness, but it is likely to become more interesting while retaining its kinetic personality for at least 6-8 years. "

Domaine de la Mordoree Chateauneuf Du Pape Cuvee Reine des Bois 2009 $495 per bottle

WA 95…"Its inky purple colour is followed by a gorgeous nose of blackberry and blueberry liqueur, lead pencil shavings, and a hint of raspberries. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated with abundant floral notes, stunning flavor depth, brilliant purity and sweet tannin."

Michel Ogier Cote Rotie 2009 $505 per bottle

WA 94…"It reveals a dense purple colour along with a beautiful bouquet of frying lard and bacon, blackberries, raspberries, forest floor and spring flowers. The sweetness of the tannin, the wine's opulent, fleshy mouthfeel and long, layered finish make for a sumptuous Cote Rotie to drink over the next 10-15 years. "
