Staff Training — Vincent Girardin

We had the pleasure of hosting an in-depth staff training led by Marco Caschera, Commercial Director, offering a focused exploration of Vincent Girardin and its enduring dedication to terroir expression.

Since its establishment in 1980, Vincent Girardin has evolved into one of Burgundy’s leading négociant-éleveurs, with Éric Germain shaping a style defined by restraint, precision and transparency. Working across some of the Côte de Beaune’s most distinguished appellations, the maison seeks to let each climat speak with clarity, allowing vineyard character to take precedence over winemaking.

The tasting showcased a compelling cross-section of the 2023 vintage, illustrating how each appellation reveals its own identity. From the chalky tension of Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly and the generous texture of Meursault Vieilles Vignes, to the layered refinement of Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes-Dessus, the white wines displayed remarkable precision and mineral definition. The lineup continued through Chassagne-Montrachet Vieilles Vignes, Puligny-Montrachet Vieilles Vignes, and the Premier Crus Combettes and Les Folatières, each offering its own interpretation of limestone, freshness and site expression. The session concluded with Santenay 1er Cru Les Gravières 2023, whose vibrant red fruit, fine structure and energetic acidity offered a fitting finale.

A rewarding opportunity to deepen our understanding of Burgundy’s nuanced terroirs and the meticulous craftsmanship that has established Maison Vincent Girardin among the region’s benchmark producers.
