The domaine was established in 1885 by Henri Boillot’s grandfather. The Boillot family began to make wine in the early 1900s. Henri was the first to exploit the vines that belonged to the family. The family-run domaine also worked on negociant business in 1995. The domaine has 5 reds and 10 whites; while the maison has 8 reds and 14 whites. And in 2000, the cellars and winery in Meursault were built. Guillaume, the son of Henri, joined the domaine in 2008 and became the head of viticulture and took over the vinification of the red wines in 2012. Now Guillaume and his father work closely to take care the domaine.

Passion and Precision are the reasons for the son-and-father team making great wines. They share knowledge and respect the integrity of the terroir and maintain vineyards sustainably for the future generations. Little interfere with the growing process while focus on how to let vines adopt new challenging climates are the jobs for the Boillot family to focus despite low yields. Wines go through aging in large French oak barrels and minimum racking. The sheer quality of these wines, including the impressive and exclusive Les Mouchères monopole, is testimony to the assiduous work he has done in both the vineyards and cellar.

Domaine Henri Boillot is situated in Meursault, while its wines are mainly produced from the grapes from Puligny Montrachet and Volnay villages. The soil of Puligny Montrachet is brown limestone, or limestone alternating with clay. This can be deep and occasionally goes right down to the solid rock. The clay loam is thicker on the upper slopes, but lighter lower down. Volnay is mainly limestone and schist. These factors, combined with the altitude of the vineyards - between 230 and 280 metres - result in wines that have concentrated aromas and a unique finesse.
