Mugnier made first-rate '98s and the Amoureuses is one of the clear successes of the vintage with its higly expressive and wonderfully complex nose that has gone secondary yet remains quite fresh. There is equally good depth to the delicious, intense and overtly mineral-driven flavors where the supporting tannins are now mostly resolved though there is a hint of tannic edginess on the gorgeously persistent finish.
