Hiedler Winery is a family-owned operation that has been in existence since 1856. The winery's origins can be traced back to Josef Hiedler, who married his wife Anna and shifted the family's focus from leather tannery to viticulture.

Located in the Langenlois region of Austria, the Hiedler family has been cultivating vines in this area for over a millennium. The winery officially commenced operations in 1856, marking the beginning of the family's dedicated pursuit of winemaking, which has now spanned five generations.

Committed to sustainable practices, the Hiedler family cultivates their 45 hectares (49 hectares) of vineyards by hand, without the use of herbicides or insecticides. They have focused on building healthy, nutrient-rich soils to allow the grapes to thrive and fully express the unique terroir of the region.

The winery's viticultural approach and attention to detail are also reflected in their winemaking process. The Hiedler family employs traditional methods, such as hand-picking the grapes and allowing natural yeast fermentation and malolactic fermentation to occur naturally.

The owl, a symbol that has been part of the Hiedler family's identity for nearly a century, represents the winery's pursuit of longevity, elegance, and balance in their wines.

As the fifth generation of the Hiedler family takes over the winery, they continue to build upon the legacy established by their ancestors, preserving the rich history and traditions that have made Hiedler Winery a standout in the Kamptal region.
