Domaine Roland Lavantureux is a respected winery located in the heart of Chablis, France, celebrated for producing exceptional Chardonnays that showcase the region's distinctive terroir. With a rich history and a commitment to quality, the estate has become a notable name in the world of Burgundy wines.
The Lavantureux family initially grew grapes to serve their own needs, with wines sold in traditional barrels by Marine and Gervais. They started selling the wines in "feuilettes" (132-liter barrels) in Auxerre and Paris, gradually expanding their market presence. Roland Lavantureux first bottled wines in 1979, officially establishing the domaine. Together with his wife Brigitte, he expanded the estate from 5 to 20 hectares, focusing on developing the business both in France and internationally.
Since 2010, Roland's sons, Arnaud and David, have continued this growth, further enlarging the cellar in 2012 and increasing vineyard holdings to 21 hectares. The domaine specializes in producing complex, mineral-driven wines, including new single-vineyard cuvées sourced from the Chablis Premier Cru Vau de Vey.
Domaine Roland Lavantureux emphasizes sustainable viticulture, utilizing practices that promote soil health and environmental balance. The hands-on winemaking approach includes hand harvesting and fermentation with indigenous yeasts, allowing the wines to express their true terroir.
Through their dedication to craftsmanship and innovation, Domaine Roland Lavantureux produces wines that resonate with both enthusiasts and collectors, showcasing the elegant and unique qualities of Chablis. The estate remains a cherished aspect of Burgundy’s evolving winemaking landscape.
