Bonneau du Martray is one of the benchmarks of great Burgundy Chardonnay. Previously owned by the Le Bault de la Morinière family, the domaine is exclusively producing superior white wines from Grand Cru vineyards and is the largest single owner of vines within Corton-Charlemagne appellation. With vines whose history can be traced back one-thousand years, Domaine Bonneau du Martray is dedicated to the production of two grands crus: Corton-Charlemagne and Corton. The Domaine's vines, mainly planted with chardonnay but also with pinot noir, are only found on the hill of Corton. As a result, the Domaine's team is dedicated to creating only the best: the great wines of Corton-Charlemagne and Corton. These wines are the astounding result of nature's creative genius coupled with generations of determined vignerons dedicated to the pursuit of excellence.

The arrival of Jean le Bault de la Morinière at the Domaine in 1969 marked the beginning of international recognition for the Bonneau du Martray wines. His son, Jean-Charles le Bault de la Morinière, joined the Domaine in 1994. Since 1997, Jean-Charles gradually oriented the Domaine towards organic farming, and its first biodynamic trials were launched in the fall of 2004. The full conversion to biodynamic was completed in 2011. It is Jean-Charles' firm belief that "we are accountable for a better understanding of the complexity of the environment in order to preserve its integrity, vitality and diversity". Jean-Charles' focus on quality in the vineyard and cellar had an immediate impact, reinforcing Bonneau du Martray's status with the most discerning wine connoisseur around the globe.

Five generations have built upon the others' successes, each participating through the ages to raise the Domaine to the highest rank, worthy of Emperor Charlemagne. E. Stanley Kroenke, a passionate Burgundy lover who owns renowned vineyards in California, became the proprietor of Domaine Bonneau du Martray in 2017. As only the fifth owner in the Domaine's history, E. Stanley Kroenke now pursues the same quest for perfection and excellence that was started by Charlemagne, the Benedictine monks, and families Bonneau du Martray and Le Bault de la Morinière.
