Delamotte is a Champagne house more than 260 years old (it is the 5th oldest Champagne house), founded in Reims in 1760 by François Delamotte, a vineyard owner. He and other Champagne producers created a tradition based on quality. Their practices have served as a model and a paradigm for other businesses due to their progressive outlook and insistence on quality. They were truly modern-minded people. Their masterpiece – the wines – continues to be recreated anew each year, and the house of Delamotte is a prime example of the traditions of quality they embody. Alexandre Delamotte brought the cellars, caves, and offices of the House of Delamotte into one beautiful mansion at the end of the 18th century. Located in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, Delamotte was one of the first producers to recognize this region for its potential to grow grapes of superb quality.

Delamotte wines are made with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes sourced exclusively from Côte des Blancs grand cru vineyards, from families who have worked with the winery for multiple generations. It is considered a small house, benefiting from a smaller production, which allows the terroir of the vineyards to be expressed, as well as the ability to blend the wines from these vineyards to produce only exceptional Champagne.

Sister house to Champagne Salon, Delamotte produces no more than 50,000 cases annually, ensuring that the vineyards of Delamotte dominate the expression of its wines, defining the house’s elegant, mineral style and expressing the purity and precision of its terroir. Committed to sustainable viticulture and traditional Champagne production methods, Delamotte continues to uphold its legacy while pushing the boundaries of quality in sparkling wine. The brand is, along with Champagne Salon, currently managed by the legend of the region, Didier Depond.
