The 2022 vintage in Burgundy has been marked by exceptional quality and a harmonious balance, with Domaine de L'Arlot standing out for its meticulous approach to winemaking. Harvesting took place from August 26 to August 31, with the Hautes Côtes held back until September 10, resulting in healthy grapes and favorable conditions.Alcohol levels in the wines are generally around 13.5%, reflecting the ripe fruit achieved during the growing season. Notably, Géraldine Godot opted against sugar additions or acidification, allowing the natural characteristics of the grapes to shine through. The white wines were crafted with careful attention, employing lower sulfur levels compared to previous years, enhancing their freshness and vibrancy. Meanwhile, the red wines underwent a traditional vinification process, with no whole bunch vinification used in 2022. This choice contributed to a style that remains fine-boned but perhaps less floral than in prior vintages. The reds experienced an 18-day cuvaison, with techniques like cool maceration and gentle infusion to extract depth without overpowering the fruit.
