The company Laurent Ponsot is neither a “domain” nor a “maison”: it’s a state of mind. The logo represents this desire to be both makers and assemblers of wines. It is inspired by the fact that we belong both to the world of the vine and to that of wine. The green of the L reflects the colour of young vine leaves emerging from the bud, while the dark grey of the P evokes the half-light of the cellar. The L descends from the sky while the P plunges its roots into our local soils. The horizontal bars of the two letters are open to the world: this is the trademark of the négociant.
In 2017 by Laurent Ponsot decided to leave the Domaine Ponsot and created his own estate with the help of his son, Clement. Laurent has strong passion for winegrowing and winemaking. His wife Claude and his two other children, Claire and Nicolas, are also capital partners in the new company. To help him launch this new project, he can count on an efficient team that has been assisting him for the last twenty years and whose talent and dedication are key to the success of everything they do.
Creative and innovative ideas and projects are carried out. He believe today’s technologies can serve the people and the nature of the world of wine better. Indeed, he adopts the use of technological closure, using neutral gas instead of sulphur for ageing, temperature control of “intelligent” cases, protection of authenticity, and so on. Those methods help resolving the problem of premature oxidation, risk of corked wine. The NFC chips in the capsule of the grand cru bottles can be scanned with a smartphone to authenticate it. The “intelligent” case also monitor any change of the temperature.
