Chablis 2022 is a vintage shaped by contrast, beginning with significant frost in early April before a far more favorable season allowed the vines to recover and progress toward a healthy harvest. A long, hot summer was tempered by well-timed June rainfall, followed by dry conditions that ensured excellent grape health, good sugar levels, and balanced ripeness. Despite being hotter than 2020, the vines adapted well, with minimal scorching, steady ripening, and yields ranging from good to high thanks to successful flowering and low disease pressure. The result is a vintage defined by ripe, clean fruit, freshness, and poised balance—offering generous, charming wines with broad appeal.

Domaine Roland Lavantureux 2022 harvest began on September 1st, with picking happening only in the mornings until September 17th. Despite a full crop, 2022 produced concentrated wines that are ample and ripe. The winemaker and owner, Arnaud Lavantureux, also made the decision to block malolactic fermentation, as he did in 2018 and 2020. In the cellar, they are transitioning from 228-liter barrels to 350-liter barrels.Jasper Morris's verdict on the 2022 Lavantureux vintage: “Wonderful wines once again.”David Lavantureux, the owner, believes that the "2022 vintage should please everybody, from novices to connoisseurs alike. It’s consensual and approachable, a bit like 2019 was, richer than 2021 with ripe fruits."Reserve your bottles now via Email or Website.
