A heartfelt thank you to our trade and media guests who joined the Faiveley masterclass celebrating 200 years of winemaking excellence. Hosted by 7th generation owner Erwan Faiveley—whose visionary leadership has elevated the domaine to new heights while honoring its rich family legacy—this event delivered an extraordinary vertical tasting of 12 vintages (Vintage 1990, 2000, 2009 & 2015 to 2023) of Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru. It was an unforgettable deep dive into Burgundy’s iconic terroir and the remarkable evolution of a true Grand Cru over the last 3 decades.
Clos des Cortons Faiveley, the only red Grand Cru on the Côte de Beaune and the flagship of their estate is a Monopole owned by Faiveley's family since 1874 that majestically extends over 2 ha 76. Its unique name stems from a controversy that arose in the 1930s, when their family name was added to the original ‘Clos des Cortons’ to avoid any confusion. Clos des Cortons Faiveley is steeped in a rich history, mirroring its exceptional and complex terroir. Dominated by limestone, marl and clay, its soil is strewn with ferruginous oolite, forging red wines of unrivalled quality.
Participants enjoyed a rare journey through Faiveley’s history, tasting the evolution and character of each outstanding vintage, while engaging with Erwan who brought the legacy to life.
