Domaine Leflaive, based in Puligny-Montrachet, is one of Burgundy’s most prestigious wineries, revered for its exceptional Chardonnay-based white wines. Established by Joseph Leflaive (1870–1953), who expanded vineyard holdings post-phylloxera in 1905, the domaine has been family-run for four generations. Anne-Claude Leflaive (1990–2015) elevated its global status by converting to biodynamic viticulture in 1997, a pioneering move in Burgundy. Today, managed by Brice de la Morandière, the estate covers approximately 24 hectares, including 5 hectares of Grand Cru and 11 hectares of Premier Cru vineyards, producing approximately 120,000 bottles annually. Its wines, known for minerality, finesse, and aging potential, include the iconic Montrachet Grand Cru and Premier Crus like Les Pucelles, which ranked 8th in the 1976 Judgment of Paris. Prices range from $100 for Mâcon-Verzé to over $5,000 for Montrachet, reflecting its elite status.
