Domaine Humbert is a respected winery located on the scenic route to Combe de Lavaux in Burgundy, France. Renowned for its commitment to crafting high-quality wines, the estate has been in the Humbert family for four generations. Emmanuel "Manou" Humbert, who took over the domaine from his parents in 1989, has been instrumental in continuously improving the quality of their wines alongside his brother, who has since retired. Since then, they have focused on creating complex and characterful wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.
Emmanuel Humbert’s journey began with vinifying his first crop in 1983. With years of experience under his belt, he has become a dynamic force behind the estate, combining traditional winemaking methods with a thoughtful and innovative approach. The estate is located next to that of his cousin, Bernard Dugat-Py, further embedding the Humbert family within the rich tapestry of Burgundy’s winemaking culture.
Domaine Humbert’s vineyards are meticulously cared for, showcasing the region's diverse terroirs. Emmanuel’s nephew, Pierre-Yves Humbert, joined the estate in 2017, providing additional support in vineyards and vinification. Together, they ensure that every grape benefits from their combined expertise, resulting in wines that capture the essence of their environment.
The winemaking philosophy at Domaine Humbert emphasizes quality and character. The wines are crafted with a focus on purity and complexity, showcasing the lush fruit and sophistication expected from Burgundy. With over 30 vintages of experience, the team at Domaine Humbert has honed their techniques to produce wines that are not only serious and focused but also reflect their passion for wine and food.
