Before founding the domaine, Patrice Rion was responsible for the family estate, Domaine Daniel Rion, where he gained a reputation for expanding its presence in the international market during the early 1980s. In 2000, he built his own winery and launched a negociant business, SARL Patrice Rion, further solidifying his impact on the wine industry.
Today, Domaine Michele et Patrice Rion farms approximately 9 hectares of vineyards, with a focus on prestigious appellations such as Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée, and Chambolle-Musigny. While they predominantly produce red wines from the Pinot Noir grape, they also cultivate 1.20 hectares in Nuits-Saint-Georges for white wine, blending 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Blanc.
