Cantine San Marzano is a prominent cooperative winery situated in the heart of the Primitivo di Manduria DOP zone in Puglia, southern Italy. Founded in 1962 by a collective of 19 passionate grapegrowers, the winery has become a cornerstone of the region's winemaking culture, dedicated to producing wines that reflect Puglia's rich heritage and unique terroir.

The winery’s vineyards thrive in the warm, sun-drenched climate typical of southern Italy, where the predominantly clay and sandy soils are particularly well-suited for viticulture. While Primitivo is the flagship grape variety, renowned for its rich flavors and bold character, San Marzano also cultivates a diverse array of other varietals including Negroamaro, Merlot, Chardonnay, Malvasia Bianco, Malvasia Nera, and Fiano. This diversity allows the winery to craft a wide range of expressive wines that cater to various palates.

In 1996, San Marzano took a significant step forward by installing a bottling line, marking the beginning of its focus on developing a distinct brand identity. The winery’s portfolio now includes two multi-wine subsidiary brands, Il Pumo and Talò, which offer red, white, and rosé wines made under the Salento IGP designation.

Among its standout offerings is the Sessantanni Old Vines Primitivo di Manduria, first produced in 2000. This flagship wine is crafted from century-old vines, celebrated for producing grapes of exceptional quality and depth.

San Marzano’s commitment to quality, innovation, and tradition has garnered recognition both locally and internationally, making it a respected figure in the world of fine Italian wines. Through its dedication to showcasing the unique characteristics of Puglia, Cantine San Marzano continues to enchant wine lovers with its remarkable expressions of the region.
