The Siro Pacenti estate is located in Montalcino, Italy, a renowned wine-producing region known for its exceptional Sangiovese grapes. The estate was established in 1970 when Siro Pacenti acquired property north of Montalcino and planted vineyards there.

In 1988, the management of the Pacenti estate transitioned to new leadership, Giancarlo. That same year, the first Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino wines were bottled under the Siro Pacenti label, marking an important milestone for the winery.

Over the following decade, the Pacenti estate expanded to include additional land south of Montalcino, in the Piancornello subzone. This newly acquired property had been planted with five hectares of vineyards in the late 1960s.

During the 1990s, the Pacenti estate forged a partnership with the University of Bordeaux, embarking on a research project focused on the phenolic maturity of Sangiovese grapes. Around this time, the estate also constructed a new winery facility, completed between 2001 and 2004.

Today, the Siro Pacenti winery encompasses a total of 22 hectares of Sangiovese vineyards, spread across the Pelagrilli and Piancornello sites. These two distinct terroirs are said to impart different characteristics to the wines.

The Pelagrilli vineyards, located at the foot of the Montalcino hill, have clay-sand soils and a continental climate. Wines from these vineyards are described as elegant and aromatic, with a strong personality.

In contrast, the Piancornello vineyards to the south feature mineral-rich soils with pebbles and ground rock. The warmer climate in this area produces structured, potent wines with the signature sweet, round tannins of Sangiovese.

Throughout the estate's history, the dedication and expertise of the vineyard workers has been essential in cultivating the high-quality Sangiovese grapes that are hand-harvested in late September and carefully vinified to capture the distinct terroir of each site.
